a photographic show that aspires to become the best mobile phone of 2026

Xiaomi has a new workhorse for the highest range. It is the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, one of the most ambitious phones on the market and a clear candidate for best mobile of 2026. On paper, it has everything to compete head-to-head with anyone that comes before it: a camera system that, at least in hardware, sets new benchmarks in the sector, a generous battery and Qualcomm’s most powerful processor. We review the characteristics of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Xiaomi 17 Ultra technical sheet xiaomi 17 ultra dimensions and weight 162.9mm x 77.6mm x 8.29mm 218g screen 6.9 inches Xiaomi HyperRGB Resolution 2608 x 1200 LTPO adaptive refresh 1-120 Hz 3,500 nits peak brightness HDR10+, Dolby Vision processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Storage 12 + 256GB 12 + 512 GB 16GB + 1TB rear cameras 50 MP, f/1.67 OIS, 23mm equivalent 200 MP, variable aperture f/2.39-f2.96, OIS, 75-100mm equivalent 50 MP, f/2.2 ultra wide angle front camera 50MP, f/2.2 battery 6,000mAh 90W fast charging 50W fast wireless charging operating system Android 16 based on One UI 8.5 connectivity 5G Wi-Fi 7Bluetooth 6GPSNFCUWBUSB type C price From 1,449 euros The lightest Ultra Regarding the design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra It is the lightest and thinnest Ultra to date. Xiaomi has left the curvature behind (thanks, Xiaomi) to create a flatter and straighter device, weighing below 220 grams. Not bad considering that we are looking at a phone with a good-sized battery and that measures more than 16 centimeters high. Xiaomi has abandoned the curves and its new Ultra looks better than ever. It’s thinner, lighter, and even more refined It is manufactured in aluminum alloy for its sides, and fiberglass in its rear part. In the Stellar Green finish, the phone is made with mineral particles, giving a very attractive shine effect. The device’s screen is 6.9 inches, flat, with OLED technology and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The company has worked especially to make it a panel that is not harmful to the eyes, and has TÜV certifications for blue light emission and flickering. Chicha, lots of chicha About the hardware it is exactly what you expect: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5configurations of up to 16 GB of RAM + 1 TB, LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1 memories, and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Perhaps a little more fast charging could be expected given the size of the battery and knowing that some cheaper Xiaomi phones have been using 120W systems for years, but they are not figures to complain about. If you are wondering about the composition of the battery, we are talking about a silicon content of 16%, so we are looking at the technology expected in a phone of this height. The software stars Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and is based on Android 16with an additional layer of artificial intelligence powered by both Gemini and Xiaomi under the name of Xiaomi Hyper AI. The camera, tell me about the camera The reason for this phone is the camera. Because it’s not just any camera. The main sensor repeats the size that every flagship should aspire to: one inch. The lens is signed by Leicaand the resolution is again 50 megapixels. But the magic of this phone, like any high-end phone, is in the zoom. The telephoto lens is one of the most ambitious at the moment: variable aperture, focal range from 75 to 100mm and resolution of 200 megapixels. The zoom is mechanical, allowing you to shoot at 75 and 100mm without loss of quality between focal lengths. It has a Samsung HPE sensor, one of the most current and capable at the moment. To top it off, it has a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle, and a selfie camera with the same resolution. As usual in the Xiaomi Ultra, this year we can also bet on the photography kit. This not only allows for a better grip and adds a physical button panel to be able to photograph with a more analog experience, it also adds 2,000mAh capacity to the phone so that it can last the day even better. Versions and price of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will arrive in Spain in four color options: Black, White, Starlit Green. This frog is one of the most colorful creatures in the world. Photographic tourism is costing it its existence

The frog you see above is one of the most striking amphibians that exist, so how can you not stop to take a photo of it if you find it in your path? Well, in practice it is difficult for you to come across one if you live in Madrid, London or New York because this frog that looks like it’s from another galaxy is native from a very specific place in India: the evergreen forests of the Western Ghats mountain range, at an altitude of between 900 to 1,200 meters. So if the mountain does not go to Muhammad, Muhammad goes to the mountain: just as there are those who leave to Mexico to swim with wild orcasthere are people who prepare a getaway on their own to immortalize the galaxy frog, which is its name. These unregulated photographic excursions are already taking their toll: an entire group of specimens has disappeared from the rainforest. As you can deduce from the photograph of the galaxy frog, it gets its name from its cosmic appearance, with a black background and little black spots that look like stars. It is not an appearance that goes unnoticed, but between the fact that it is similar in size to the tip of a finger and that they hide in small spaces such as cracks under rocks, fallen leaves and decaying trees, It is not easy to see them with the naked eye.. Going to photograph an endangered species is not the best thing for the species. Handle it carelessly, either And it is not easy to see them simply because they are disappearing from the face of the Earth: galaxy frogs have a conservation status classified as “threatened” that is getting worse, according to this study published in Herpetology Notes. In the paper They point directly to one of the main culprits: uncontrolled photographic outings, insofar as they cause alterations and changes in behavior that have an impact on the feeding and reproduction of the frogs. The study’s research team, led by Rajkumar K. P, a scientist at the Zoological Society of London, has been monitoring that area of the jungle since 2019, which has allowed them to follow the population of the Melanobatrachus indicus (its scientific name) over time. Back in 2020 they discovered a group of seven galaxy frogs hidden under some logs. Via: Drjpmenon When they returned to the area after COVID-19, they found that this group had disappeared. So, all the alarms went off: What had happened to that group of frogs? Well, two summers where different groups of photographers came en masse, trampling the area and moving the logs looking for: 1. the frogs. 2. get the perfect composition to take the ideal photo. As the investigation states: “The photographers knew the microhabitat of the species through publications and local trackers and moved numerous logs while searching for the frogs.” The researchers are aware of groups of up to six photographers who came to the place eager to photograph the frogs. And not only that, they often moved the specimens to place them on moss or logs, so that they could take a photo with a more attractive background. For frogs, it not only involves the presence of man or undergoing changes in their location and that of the elements where they hide and find food, but also enduring repeated manipulations and powerful camera flashes to illuminate the scene for hours. Touching such a sensitive wild animal without biosafety protocols is not a good idea: stress, heat, potential illnesses… are some of the conditions they suffered, such as pick up the paper. One of the trackers assured the researchers that two small frogs perished during the sessions, although the scientists could not verify this. The investigation concludes with a series of good practicesa measure that researchers say should be established in the form of ethical standards for nature and conservation photography. This is not a study against natural photography, since as Rajkumar explains, done correctly it can be the best ally: “It’s a huge resource to help conservationists better understand things like animal distribution and behavior, and the resulting images can educate others about these incredible species. (…) However, irresponsible photography can turn that resource into a danger.” Rajkumar takes this sad episode as an example as “a strong warning about the consequences of unregulated photography” but that without careful and responsible management “we run the risk of disappear from the planet forever“. the Vivo X300 Pro inaugurates the biggest photographic battle in recent years

China plays in another league. And the new Vivo X300 Pro has just demonstrated that the might of the Chinese mobile industry is far ahead of the competition when it sets its mind to it. with the previous generation we already checked that Vivo is consolidating itself as a total reference in mobile photography. With their new flagship just presented, they have just hit the table again. Let Apple, Samsung and Google take note, because the distance is becoming more and more evident. We have gone to Shanghai to see the Vivo mobiles. These are our first impressions of the Vivo X300 Pro. A brutal mobile that has many numbers to become the best photography smartphone of the year. Because although at the moment it is only official in China, it is already confirmed that it will soon arrive in Spain. Very attentive to everything it offers; The super high range of this end of the year that comes from China is ready to leave behind all the models that we considered leading at a stroke. Vivo X300 Pro technical sheet Vivo X300 Pro Dimensions and weight 161.98 x 75.48 x 7.99mm Screen 6.78″ LTPO 2,800 x 1,260 px 120Hz 2,160Hz PWM Dimming HDR 10+, Dolby Vision processor MediaTek Dimensity 9500 memory 16 GB Storage 512GB Battery 6,510mAh 90W fast charging 40W wireless charging rear cameras Main: 50MP ZEISS Sony LYT-828, f/1.57, 24mm Wide angle: 50MP, JN1, f/2.0, 15mm Telephoto: 200MP, ZEISS APO, Samsung HPB, f/2.67, 3.7x optical zoom, 85mm front camera 50 MP, ZEISS; JN1, f/2.0 Operating system OriginOS 6 Android 16 Connectivity Wi-Fi 7 5G Bluetooth 6.0 NFC Others IP68 resistance USB C 3.2 Stereo speakers VS1+ V3+ image chip Ultrasonic fingerprint reader Price — Once upon a time there was a camera attached to a mobile It was the headline we chose for the Vivo X200 Pro review and I think there is no better way to describe what this series represents. In the Vivo X300 Pro, photography determines everything. We are not looking at an ultra-thin mobile. Nor does it have as striking a design as one of its direct rivals, the Xiaomi 17 Pro. On the Vivo X300 Pro, the circular rear camera module It is your identity sign. There is no rear screen or pronounced curves, but a 6.78″ flat screen, a metal body that conveys solidity and attention to detail and a more traditional aesthetic. Xiaomi decided to go for innovation this year, Vivo revolves everything around the camera and sticks to what it knows works. We are looking at a top flagship in terms of technical specifications. The Vivo X300 Pro releases the new Dimension 9500the processor with which MediaTek measures itself directly against the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. They are accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and storage that uses UFS 4.1 to achieve the best management speeds. As for the battery, it is presented with 6,510 mAh, although this figure could vary in its European version, as We have already seen what has happened on previous occasions.. Taking advantage of the launch, the new OriginOS 6the new version of its operating system based on Android 16 that will allow you to leave behind Funtouch OS and incorporates an aesthetic redesign clearly inspired by Liquid Glasshas considerably improved its fluidity and adds compatibility with PC and Mac for sending files and screen mirroring. Five years of guaranteed system updates will be offered with the Vivo X300 Pro. ZEISS puts the icing on the cake with a 200MP telephoto and a single main sensor In the triple camera of the Vivo X300 Pro, there are two sensors that stand out especially: the telephoto and the main sensor. For the wide angle we have a 50 megapixel, autofocus and 15 mm sensor, signed by ZEISS, like its entire camera. But this is not where we find the great photographic leap. It is in the main and in the telephoto where Vivo puts all the meat on the grill. The telephoto lens of the Vivo X300 Pro is a ZEISS APO sensor with 200 megapixels and 3.7x optical zoom of 85 mm. Vivo is betting on an ISOCELL HPB “Thanos” sensor with 0.56 μm pixels manufactured by Samsung for the occasion. With this addition the new phone becomes at the height of the X200 Ultra model which we had the opportunity to test a few months ago, but it is not so immediate, because Vivo promises that it is a completely new sensor. A new 200 megapixel sensor for the telephoto that promises to eclipse everything seen so far. We have had the opportunity to test it briefly during its presentation and the result in x5 and x10 is astounding. 24mm image (left) vs 2x 48mm zoom image (right) 3.5x 85mm zoom image (left) vs 10x 242mm zoom image (right) And it’s not just the components used, the aggressive AI processing achieves images with extraordinary definition. For me who comes from photography of the Google Pixelthis Vivo X300 Pro is along the same lines and I would even say, without testing it in detail, that it surpasses them. The second protagonist is the LYT-828 main sensor with 50 megapixels, 24 mm and lens with f/1.6 aperture. It is a sensor co-created between Vivo and Sony, signed by ZEISS and that promises a stabilization up to CIPA 5.5a standard on the order of those achieved by gimbals, they say from Vivo. It also has a ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating to try to reduce flare and ghosting. But the advantages of this sensor do not stop there. The LYT-828 is probably the most advanced photo sensor available in a mobile phone to date. It is about the first sensor to achieve a dynamic range of more than 100 dB and almost 17 steps. What does this mean? Mainly that images with exceptional HDR can be obtained; which translates into super vivid images with a very wide range of colors. This commitment to colors also … Read more

The photographic AI of the Pixel allowed to create false memories. Now your goal is to teach us to get better photos

If Google mobiles have always been characterized by something, it is for its photographic functions. Post -processed cameras and software has always been a reference in the market, but AI has devastated this segment. Although There have been interesting functionsthis technology has also made time the difference between reality and the processed image It was bigger. Google has given a step back in that trend. Camera Coach. This is the name of the new Android function present in the new Pixel 10, Pro and Pro XL. Contrary to what happens With the magic editorwhich allows us modify our images with ia To the point of creating false memories, Camera Coach goes in the opposite direction: try to draw real photos “without tricks”. As? Teaching us photography. Frame better. This Google tool uses The gemini modelbut he does it with a teaching and educational function. The idea is not to add things that were not or remove the ones and “bothered.” What Camera Coach does is guide us in things how to make a better frame of the photo before taking it out. The composition also matters. During that process that guides us when taking a photo, Google’s AI “sees what we see” and giving us advice of all kinds. Not only to frame – “move the camera a little to the right and up”, “apply a little zoom” – but so that the composition of the photo is also better – “Frame to see that sculpture also in the background” – and the final result is more professional. Di “Cheese”. This function comes to suggest that for example the protagonists of the photo also contribute to the better. Thus, Camera Coach can advise us to ask that person to smile or look at the camera or any other part. It can even suggest scenes that we had not even considered photographing. A learning for the future. Google’s proposal is interesting because all these tips can help us for the future. Thus, at first we need them more and apply them, but over time the idea is that we apply them automatically without the need for Camera Coach so that our photos have better frame and composition. And if that were not enough, Guided Frame. That Google option is based on the fact that the AI already sees what our camera sees and is Able to recognize a scene and “understand it.” That is what the AI of Google takes advantage of for “Guided Frame” technology, which is capable of identifying all the elements present in the image so that we can then act on those elements. Thus, in a group photo with four people and with cars and trees behind, Google’s AI can identify all that and then allow us to edit that image with natural language. For example, saying “fixes the lighting of this image” or “eliminates that garbage cube on the right.” If Google Mete ia, you will also put water brand. The new pixel 10/pro/pro xl also have an important novelty: according to Google they are the first to implement C2PA content credentials. That means that if at any time changes in the photo are made to edit it, for example adding things with AI, the system will integrate in that new image an invisible water mark that can be consulted afterwards to verify that, in effect, there has been a certain editing process with AI or with editing applications. The new magical editor allows this normal photo to become something much more striking … even if it is a lie. Source: 91mobiles/Kamila Wojciechowska Beware of false memories. In recent years, Google drifting in editing processes has been as striking as controversy. He Magic draft He taught us that we could eliminate things that had left over our photos, and the Magic editor went further and allowed us to distort those photos and memories with options like that “reimagine” that scares and excites equal parts. We could make the sky, instead of lead, be sunny, or that the sea in the background was more blue and crystalline instead of darker and ugly. Good for the educational approach. Google continues to reinforce those options to edit photos with AI. However, the most striking novelty among those that have been announced of this type is precisely that “integrated photography teacher” that will teach us to get better photos in different situations. It is a striking and original proposal that will undoubtedly help many fans get even more game of their mobile camera. In Xataka | Google photos was a place where we kept photos. Google wants it now a place where our photos are “invented”

The first photographic meme of history was extremely macabro: posing as beheaded corpses

Who says that before the Internet people He made less bullshit? They were the same, what happens is that there was no potential audience of millions of people to reach (and was not monetized). What gives even more merit to analog memes, the fashions due to infection that passed from hand to hand, generating absurd fashions that followed thousands of people. One of the first of these fashions was the Horsemaning (either Jinetism), such a delicious way to make the fool that it was not as isolated at the beginning of the century. What is it. He Horsemaning It shows a person pretending to have been decapitated. Actually, two people participate in the joke: one, the body, placed at an angle that either the camera shot or the position of the deceased assumption makes the neck not seen; Another subject, the head, places the neck on the edge of a table or buries its own body in the sand of the beach, so that it looks decapitation. Both added things create a very shocking and hilarious effect, especially since it is obvious where the trick is. It is fun because we see people lose their composure before the camera, which always laughs. Why Jinetism. By the headless rider of ‘The Sleepy Hollow ‘Legend of Washington IrvingAbsolute classic of Anglo -Saxon literature. The story was written in 1820, a century before the popularization of meme. But it is a story that returns to the collective imaginary over and over again due to its powerful imagery, so linked to Halloween. In it appears a spectrum, that of the headless rider, a decapitated gentleman (supposedly a Hesian soldier) that he was left without a gunshot. Of Victorian England … Although it was in the VCEINTE years of the last century when it became fashionable, we can track the origins of the macabra jokes further back in time: to Victorian England and the first steps of photography. At that time, in times prior to television, the newborn invention caused a sensation in very different environments (from family chascarrillos to the first and disturbing pornography steps). Since their first steps, photographers experienced with tricks: overlays, transparencies and trapantojos, and fashions such as those of the BeachBackground of this Horsemaning: People with heads in the lap or under their arm, and sometimes were achieved with multiple negatives. … to when Facebook cool. Around 2011there was a resurgence of the photos of beheaded with perspective tricks. Surely you remember it, because around that year became fashionable he Stocking (imitate photos of image banks), the Planking (Photos of people laying down in the most incongruous places), the Owling (disturbing snapshots posing as owls), the Plowling (the two previous meetings) or the Batmanning (Hang upside down). Loquisimo Pre-Tiktok times, and still overwhelmed an endearing digital naivety. In Xataka | Putting the testicles in landscape photos is the latest crazy photographic fashion of the Internet. Memory can be configured with up to 1 TB of internal storage and 16 GB of RAM, and the battery is 5,700mAh with fast charging of 100W. Slightly curved front. Huawei has not mentioned the chip, but it has not been long to know that both this model and the pro+ assemble the same Kirin 9020 that we saw in the Huawei Mate 70 Pro. It is a processor made of architecture of seven Nanometers of SMIC, the Chinese giant in semiconductors that is helping Huawei materialize his dream of achieving a device made only with national components. The groundbreaking. Reviewed the basic specs, Huawei wanted to be dominant in a section in which they have never lowered the rhythm: the camera. This telephone incorporates an inch sensor, which promises the greatest dynamic range of the industry. But here the star is not the main sensor, it is the teleobjective. With a size of 1.28 inches, the teleobjective of the pure 80 ultra is the largest in the industry. Such is its size, which Huawei has inclined its position so that the height of the camera module does not shoot. And, not happy with achieving this technical implementation, they have released something unique in mobile photography: get two teleobjectives with a single sensor. Two distances, a sensor. This 50 megapixel sensor allows 3.7 and 9.7 increases optical zoom. And no, it is not thanks to the digital zoom. The company has patented a simply spectacular system. What you see in the upper image is the sensor (the inclined, pink) to which light reflected through a prism is reaching. That prism moves through the module mechanically (using a gear system that literally displace it by the surface). According to the position of the prism and the mirror to which the light will reflect, the phone will shoot with a teleobjective or other. They are also the first teleobgers stabilized by SHIFT sensor (sensor stabilization), instead of OIS. A technology historically reserved for the main sensor, which has a traditional optical stabilizer. The results that Huawei has shown are impressive, especially in low light. Zoom 3.7x. This is, by far, the most advanced teleobjective system in the world. A solution to the problem of modular size and a photographic muscle exhibition as we had not seen to date. Let’s talk about the. Chatgpt and Google surprised the world with their ways with real -time processing and video of everything that saw the camera of our mobile. A function as powerful as terrifying that brings us closer to a future similar to that of ‘Her’. Huawei’s AI can already see by the user and interact in real time with its context. Huawei, with the help of Deepseek And Pangu has achieved an identical result. The pure 80 ultra, through its Xiaoyi voice assistant, can analyze in real time everything we show with the camera. It is an exclusive function of Harmonyos and Hongmeng AI, and another sample of where China is now in the AI race. Huawei literally calls it like this: anti-mirones protection. There are curious functions also based on AI. If the device detects that there is someone looking at our screen, the system will let us know so we can realize. With the launch of the pure huawei, Huawei announced collaboration with Depseek to improve its AI. They have not taken to show with this pure 80 ultra of what they are capable in this first stage. National hardware? After launch From Huawei Matebook Fold, they jumped weeks later relative leaks of the milestone that Huawei is achieving with his own hardware. A good part of the chips of this PC were made with Huawei. It is soon to know the interior of the pure huawei 80 ultra, but the key that surrounds this device is what is capable of making Huawei in the highest range of mobile phones. This barbarity is the photographic kit of Xiaomi 15 ultra. And I have decided to take it to its limit

A few days ago I traveled to Singapore for the presentation of the Little F7 ultra. Taking advantage of the fact that I was going to spend a few days in the city, I took my Xiaomi 15 Ultra With a fairly special accessory: the photography kit. The objective of this accessory is to bring the experience of a professional camera closer to a telephone, although even further. I am going to tell you what my experience has been with this accessory, and if it is worth it or not to get it, since at the 1,499 euros that the Xiaomi 15 ultra costs it would be necessary to add 199 euros, a figure that brings the whole to 2,000 euros. What includes the kit. The Xiaomi photographic kit is composed of the following: A telephone case. 2,000mAh battery grip Three camera rings (one of them 67mm ND Filters adapter). Two obturator buttons. Detachable grip grip. Belt. The composition of the kit is more than correct, and allows you to meet its objective: turn the phone into a device closer to a camera, including the option of introducing neutral density filters. How is the installed kit. The first thing we have to keep in mind is that the kit increases, and much, the volume and dimensions of this phone. Its reason for being is the grip, and this makes the mobile stop having the design of a mobile. The grip is very, very comfortable, and makes the ergonomics by taking pictures for hours excellent. One point to be taken is the one that the adapter for ND filters is 67mm, a measure for which you most likely do not have filter. If, as in my case, you have a larger ND, it will have to use adapter rings. It is quite funny how a conversion to ND of 82mm is. Of course, forget about putting your mobile in your pocket, this is already a camera. The ND filter allows you to make curious exhibitions, such as this. The experience with the kit. This kit has four buttons. Record button (very uncomfortable and very small) Sailing button (perfect) Dial for zoom (very good) Dial for exposure compensation (perfect) Xiaomi 15 Ultra, automatic mode compensating exposure. The kit does not add any extra function that we cannot perform through the phone’s own screen, but it does everything much more comfortable. For example, exposure compensation is one of the functions that I have used most thanks to having it in a dial. Mobile cameras usually overexpose a lot and move away from a film look, with this it is solved in seconds. It seems a minor detail, but being able to access professional mode functions directly from a button make the experience doing photos excellent. The shutter button is technically well executed. Experience is very similar to using a mirrorless in electronic shooting mode, and touch is quite pleasant. Finally, pointing out that the key to this kit is that it works like a PowerBank. In total, it has 2,000Mah. If we are taking many photos and the phone begins to run out of battery, you can give us about 40% additional autonomy. Kit software. When we connect this kit, we can configure from the ‘grip of camera’ adjustments their behavior. In this menu we will find adjustments related to when the phone loads, what function activates each of the buttons. This is, by far, the best functionality of the kit, since we can make full customization, as in the best Mirrorless cameras. This kit has its own firmware and is updated independently, so the doors open to, in the future, Xiaomi adding extra functionalities. Not everything that shines. On a technical level, the kit seems to me a great idea. If we have bought a phone for your camera, this is a great option to take it to the fullest. But, as a professional photographer, I have found some buts. The first is the matter of size. It is assumed that the advantage of the phones is to have a pocket camera. If I have to carry this grip, it ceases to be, and charge (at least, for me) more sense to use a real camera. There are countless small -sized mirrorless that yield much better than any phone. The second point is that Xiaomi has completely forgotten the most used format today: the vertical. If we want to make a vertical video, or shoot in this format, the kit is completely unusable, it is only designed for vertical guidance. The last point has to do with the price. An ultra xiaomi 15 more this kit goes to 1,700 euros. 1,700 euros for a phone whose reason for being is the camera, and that we cannot transport comfortably if we carry the kit. In my opinion, buy any more economical mobile, such as Xiaomi 14T (500 euros) and a Mirrorless + Kit target of about 1,200 euros, it is a much more logical purchase if we really like photography. Now, if you have already bought an ultra Xiaomi 15, getting the kit is something you want yes or yes.
