I thought portable consoles were already defined. Lenovo has decided that they can also be folded in half

I think Lenovo is one of the brands that takes the most risks in the computer segment. And in the consoles: Lenovo Legion Go It’s a good sample. With several models under its belt, the brand has come to the MWC in Barcelona with a hybrid that is, above all, extravagant. But also original, I think there is no better way to please everyone. Do you want a portable screen to play with physical controls? Covered. A more compact panel to make it less uncomfortable? Check. Option to play with the panel vertically and horizontally? Of course. What if the controllers can become a standalone controller? And even with a mouse option. The Lenovo Legion Go Fold doesn’t marry anyone. Just because, It also has a foldable screen. Lenovo Legion Go Fold technical sheet Lenovo Legion Go Fold Concept SCREEN 11.8 inch POLED panel Resolution 2,435 x 1,712 pixels, 16:10 165Hz refresh 100% DCI-P3 500 nits Tactile DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT 189.1 x 282.5 x 8.5mm 868 g (638 g modular + 230 g controls) PROCESSOR Intel Core Ultra 7 GRAPHIC CARD Integrated Intel Arc 140V GPU 64TOPS, 8 Xe-cores, 1.95GHz RAM 32GB LPDDR5x-8533 STORAGE 1TB PCIe SSD (Gen 4) 2242 OPERATING SYSTEM Windows 11 OTHERS Color: Eclipse Black PRICE Unspecified It is neither one thing nor another, it is everything It is not just a folding tablet, nor a video game console, nor a convertible laptop: it is everything at once. And with a format that can be expanded almost to the unimaginable within the gamer field. Goes from a tablet style surface to a console Steam Deck. Detachable, of course. Just like what happened to me with the modular laptop that Lenovo also brought to MWC, the Legion Go Fold goes a step further when you think it can’t expand further. Broadly speaking: It is a gaming tablet with anchored physical controls. It can be used both vertically and horizontally. It is a large tablet that folds in half into a smaller one. It runs Windows and has a keyboard as an accessory, so it can become a travel laptop. As was the case with the original Legion Go, the controllers can be joined together to function as an independent external controller. As a cherry on top, one of the controllers anchors to the base to become a mouse with a trigger. The device is a concept that is not yet definitive. However, it appears to be fully functional, all parts make sense, They are solid enough and they can be combined without excessive complication. Like all moving parts, the anchors are somewhat delicate to place: you have to remove a lock, slide the control down and separate it outwards. The lane is not too long, it gave me the impression that it was not as firm as it should be. Given the weight and size of the tablet, I don’t think it will be excessively comfortable for long periods of gaming. At least as long as he stays in suspense. A folding screen? Why not If it already seems strange that a tablet has two console controls anchored to the ends, seeing how the screen folds is the ultimate. Because of the size and because the folding looks somewhat rough: the edge is thick and leaves the panel exposed. However, it is the only way to fold the tablet so that it continues to function as a touch device. The folded Legion Go Fold is much more comfortable to play with. The problem is that Windows does not allow itself to be tamed to multiformat: System orientation does not adapt to portrait orientation. I also noticed different errors when resizing the windows, with the touch on the screen and with some buttons on the controls. The problems of direct. It is a concept and it is appreciated as such, a “I’m going to see how far I can go with removable elements.” The result is very curious to see, not so much to enjoy. At least in regards to everything related to the screen, because the design of the controls, its buttons, the detail of the mini-screen on one of the controls and its versatility are noteworthy. Quite far from viability Playing with an unfolded tablet of this size is not very comfortable, having physical controls attached even less so. Lenovo has already more than proven the Legion Go format, it is the path it is going to follow. And surely the experience gained with the Fold will help to improve the commercial family, such as adding a small screen to the controls. Lenovo is the PC manufacturer that usually surprises me the most with its proposals. Take risks even if these experimental products do not go beyond concepts. And when I tried them I found solid, well-thought-out devices with established technologies. I don’t think that combining a folding tablet with controls will come to fruition, but who knows. We ended up seeing it in stores the same way. Images | Ivan Linares In Xataka | Best tablets in quality price. Which one to buy based on use and recommended models

The latest from Lenovo is a gaming laptop with a rollable screen. It makes more sense than it seems

Playing on a laptop has historically been synonymous with playing in 16:9 or, at most, in 4:3 in some more work-focused models. Play ultrawide It is something that, for the moment, is relegated to desktop monitors for a fairly simple issue: space. That, of course, is assuming that the panel cannot be rolled and unrolled, because if possible, concepts as curious and peculiar as the one that Lenovo has shown at CES 2026 could be achieved. Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable (Concept). That is the name given to the laptop with a roll-up screen that Lenovo showed at CES in Las Vegas. It is, as its name indicates, a concept, that is, it is not for sale, but its proposal is striking. Lenovo is betting big on this technology with folding laptops and the roll-up concept we tested a few weeks agobut with this device the firm goes a little further. Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable | Image: Lenovo How it works. The laptop features a Lenovo PureSight OLED panel that, by default, has a size of 16 inches. Lenovo calls this size the “Focus mode.” Under the panel is a dual voltage-based motor that allows the screen to expand and contract “with minimal vibration and noise,” according to the firm. Lenovo also claims to have used low-friction materials and that the system maintains constant tension throughout the panel, which should translate into less abrasion during the winding cycle. From 16 to 24. The panel can be expanded in two sizes: from 16 to 21.5 inches (“Tactic mode”) and from 21.5 to 24 inches in a more panoramic format that Lenovo has dubbed “Arena mode.” This, depending on the player profile, may make all the sense in the world since it allows you to have an ultrawide monitor available at all times. Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable | Image: Lenovo Develop. If we take them seriously, competitive games win a whole lot if we play on a 16:9 monitor. Titles like ‘Counter Strike’, ‘Valorant’ or ‘League of Legends’ are played in 16:9 because this format allows you to see the entire screen without having to move your head. In some shooters, like ‘Battlefield 6‘, an ultrawide monitor moves the minimap, game and weapon information away from the center, forcing us to take our eyes off the reticle even more. That is to say, in games in which everything happens in the center and surrounding areas, a 16:9 monitor is the most suitable, at least on paper. However, simulation games, open exploration worlds or more cinematic games (think of a ‘Clair Obscure: Expedition 33‘, a ‘Cyberpunk 2077‘ or a ‘god of war‘) appreciate the panoramic format and the immersion they provide. The same with editing and productivity apps, which win in ultrawide. This laptop offers us, in theory, the best of both worlds: a 16:9 panel for shooters and competitive games; and an ultrawide panel for when we want to relax and enjoy a good story. But that, in theory, because the Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable is a concept and, as such, has yet to prove itself. And inside? Lenovo hasn’t left anything out. The laptop is based on the Legion Pro 7i, so it has a New generation Intel Core Ultraa NVIDIA RTX 5090 and the Lenovo AI Engine+. This uses Lenovo LA1+LA3 cores to optimize resources based on the gaming scenario, which, on paper, should conceptually keep the FPS up to par. In Xataka we resume our format Versus On our YouTube channelin which we face face -to -face devices to discover which one is worth more. We already did it with Sports watches of less than 200 euros and with Two of Amazon’s most popular air fryers. For her, there are undeniable aspects: a large battery “to endure without problem as little, an entire day of institute or university, several storage options, and sufficient processor and RAM.” Although they start from a similar price, their differences are evident. The screen size is the first detail that attracts attention. “Of course, to use them in hand, the most comfortable and manageable is Xiaomi,” says Ana. His impressions about the other two are more critical: one feels too large and another adds more weight than expected. The perspective changes when placing them on the table. “To use them on a table, with keyboard or pencil, The truth is that the 3 are very comfortable. To write a lot or read, you appreciate having an extra inches. ”In addition, not everything is productivity, and in the entertainment section preferences may vary. “The 3 tablets have very good quality LCD screens. It has a lot of resolution, high level of detail, good colors and technologies that help reduce eye fatigue,” he explains. Even so, there are differences in resolution and refreshment rate that should be taken into account. The complete comparison is in the video. Ana also analyzed cameras, sound and performance. “Although on paper and according to Benchmarks, The Xiaomi tablet processor is betterthe truth is that the 3 behave wonderfully, ”he says. None of them gave it problems in their work sessions or in times of leisure. In an academic scenario, accessories make a difference. “For me, without a doubt, the keyboard is an almost mandatory purchase. If you are going to use the tablet to take it to class and take notes and notes, I think it is the most comfortable and quick way to work. I already tell you that when I used the Lenovo, I was missing a lot,” he says. The comparative also covers autonomy and artificial intelligence functions. After reviewing all the points, there is a clear winner. You can discover it in our last Versus: The final verdict is there, ready to help you decide.
