If you were planning to end the afternoon by turning on the Xbox and disconnecting for a while, today may not be the best time. Microsoft online services are going through a fall which is already leaving players from different places facing errors and screens that should not be there. The episode also arrives a few days after the problems we saw on the PlayStation Network. A new interruption that reminds us how much a console already depends on everything that happens far from our living room.
The scope of the incident is reflected in Xbox Statuswhere the company maintains four areas under the “major disruption” label: Account & Profile, Store & Subscriptions, Games, and Apps & Mobile. At the same time, multiplayer, cloud gaming, and devices and networks are all up and running. The official photograph, therefore, does not show a complete blackout of the ecosystem, but rather problems concentrated in especially sensitive services, although other functions continue to be available.
