During the interview, Cook did not detail which products would increase in price, but simply said that there would be changes in the catalog. “The consumer electronics industry is facing an unprecedented challenge. The rapid expansion of AI data centers has caused an extraordinary increase in demand for memory and storage. We have never seen the price of a component rise so much and so quickly. Until now we have protected our customers from these increases, but we have reached a point where we are forced to start raising prices on several products, including today’s increases for the iPad and Mac. We know this is not good news and we are working tirelessly to find solutions”.

This is how the new prices look

MacBook laptops: up to 19% more expensive

The one that comes out worst on this list is the 13-inch MacBook Air, which increases by 230 euros, 19% more expensive. The MacBook Pro M5 Max, which were already the most expensive, go up a whopping 600 euros each.

Desktop Mac: up to 31% more

The only one that doesn’t come up here is the Mac Mini M4, but because Apple already loaded the base model in its daymeaning it was like a preventive price increase. Of the others, the Mac Studio with the M3 Ultra chip is the one that increases the most: 1,500 euros more.

iPad: the cheap model is no longer cheap

The iPad with A16 chip, also known as the cheap iPad, now costs 499 euros, 32% more. The rest of the models increase between 14 and 24%.

Apple TV and HomePod are not spared either

The highest percentage increase of all is seen in the Apple TV 4K, which increases 36% up to 229 euros. HomePod speakers, in both versions, are also more expensive.
