25 Latinos are among the 100 best MLB prospects

The 2025 Major League season is about to begin and with it many young people will seek to earn a position to begin their path in the best baseball in the world.

That is why MLB released its latest update this Friday with the best 100 prospects in the Major Leagues for this 2025 season.

This extensive list includes up to 25 Latinos. Among which are names like Jasson Domínguez, who has already seen action in the Major Leagues with the Yankees.or Ethan Salas who is one of the youngest on the list.

The list is largely led by the Japanese Roki Sasaki, for which the Dodgers just paid a little more than $5 million dollars to sign him as an international prospect. Roman Anthony and Walker Jenkins close out the top three prospects.

  9. Carson Williams, SS, Rays
  10. Travis Bazzana, 2B, Guardians

Although there is no Latin player in the top 10 25% of the list is of Hispanic origin. The ranking includes 13 Dominicans, six Venezuelans, two Cubans, one Mexican, one Puerto Rican, one Panamanian and one Colombian among the best prospects.

The best Latin American prospect in the Major Leagues is the Mexican Marcelo Mayer who plays shortstop and is signed by the Boston Red Sox. In the general ranking it is located in box 12.

It follows Dominican catcher of the Baltimore Orioles Samuel Basallo in 13th place. While his compatriots Leodalis de Vries and Jasson Domínguez appear in boxes 18 and 21 on the list, respectively.

The 18-year-old Venezuelan catcher Ethan Salas is in position 33. While Jaison Chourio, Jackson’s brother, appears in position 60 in the ranking.
