Canelo Álvarez reveals the key to his success: “I never did it for money”

Currently Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is one of the best boxers pound for pound. The Mexican has an extensive career of more than 15 years as a professional and has managed to stay at the level of the greatest for a long time.

Recently in an interview for the specialized magazine The Ring Alvarez revealed some keys to his success in sports. Stating that the love for boxing has been what has helped him establish himself as one of the best of the decade.

“I always tell young people: “Don’t look at this sport to make money, the money comes by itself. Do it well, with discipline, with love and the money will come by itself.”. That is the difference between the majority and me, that many do it just for the profits and I don’t,” concluded the current super middleweight world champion.

In his extensive career as a boxer Canelo has a positive record of 62-2-2 with 39 victories by knockout. Álvarez was until very recently the absolute super middleweight champion, until the International Boxing Federation stripped him of his belt after refusing to defend it against mandatory challenger William Scull.

Canelo sets a date for his retirement
