If you live in Spain and you have a compatible device, from today you can start using Apple Intelligence in Spanish, without installing developing versions. Apple’s artificial intelligence system lands in our language and in the European Union, and does it one day earlier.

Although the company had announced that the deployment would begin in April, the activation has started this Monday, March 31 with the launch of iOS 18.4, Ipados 18.4 and Macos Sequoia 15.4. Now, we can use the tools that debuted in the United States in October last year.

Apple’s response to the rise of artificial intelligence after the launch of Chatgpt in November 2022 arrives with a variety of novelties. Some are already available, while others remain in development and should arrive with future software updates. In any case, this system aims to mark a turning point within the company’s ecosystem.

Writing tools. One of Apple Intelligence’s key functions are its writing tools. The AI ​​is able to review our texts and generate different versions of the same content. It can be especially useful when we seek to refine a message, such as responding to an important email with the fair words to fulfill its purpose.

We can invoke writing tools from almost anywhere where we can introduce text: from mail, telegram, bear or even Word, just press in the text box or touch the Apple Intelligence icon when it appears. Interestingly, in our tests it has not worked in WhatsApp, where Meta has its own AI.

Priority notifications. It is no secret: we live surrounded by applications, and many of them saturate us to notifications. Apple has been improving the management of notices with each version of its system, but with Apple Intelligence it takes one more step with the priority notifications, which place the most relevant at the beginning of the list and in summary format.

Can be activated from Settings > Notifications > Prioritize notifications.

Priority messages. Something similar occurs with our entrance tray. Now Mail incorporates priority messages, a function that shows in the upper part those emails that care the most. In addition, with a simple touch we can also get a summary of the mail content.

How to activate Apple Intelligence in Spanish and Spain

Now that Apple Intelligence is already officially available in Spain, it is no longer necessary to use it in English or install beta versions. Starting to explore your functions is very simple: it is enough to update the devices to the most recent version of the system.

In the case of the iPhone, it is iOS 18.4; on the iPad, of iPados 18.4; and in the Mac, of Macos Sequoia 15.4.
The steps are the usual:

• On iPhone and iPad: Settings > General > Software update.
• In Mac: System settings > General > Software update.

Once updated, it only remains to be waiting for the language models that support Apple Intelligence.

Of course, not all devices are compatible. Apple Intelligence is available only on the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, the entire iPhone 16 range, the iPad Mini with chip A17 PRO, and the iPad and Mac with M1 or higher processor. If you have a previous model, you can install the system update, but Apple Intelligence will not be activated.
