Xiaomi has renewed its catalog of vacuum robots with two striking models: these are the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 and Vacuum 5 Pro. Both seem basically identical in almost everything, but they have an important difference in a key section.

It is the system to avoid obstacles, which in Vacuum 5 Pro is even more advanced than in its “small” brother and that makes use of a unique camera system and artificial vision. But be careful, because Vacuum 5 does not detract. Let’s know them a little more closely.

The difference: how they avoid obstacles

What clearly highlights both models is their suction capacity, which reaches 20,000 PA. These robots have anti -re -brown brushes and two small tricks to clean more and better: the ability to extend the mopa and the presence of a side brushes.

To complete a more precise navigation, the Vacuum 5 robot is equipped with a DTOF retractable radar system and with the S-Cross technology of obstacle prevention.

That helps clean areas with little height, being able to put under the furniture and obstacles that leave a space of 88 mm high. The ultrasonic sensor allows to detect carpets and lift the mop up to 15 mm to avoid wetting them.

The corners are not a problem.

That is the big difference with the Vacuum 5 Pro robot, which also uses the DTOF retractable radar, but also avoids obstacles even more advanced thanks to an AI algorithm.

Said algorithm feeds on A triple camera system which projects a matrix of laser points and RGB images to identify and precisely classify small objects. That system, those responsible say, is even able to detect if the dirt is solid, liquid or mixed, and all this contributes to prevent the robot from being blocked.

The base station not only loads the robot, but also has clean water tanks (4 L) and dirty (3.8 L), in addition to a 2.5 l compartment for dust.

THE MAP CLEANING SYSTEM Allows you to configure the water temperature (environment, warm or hot) for more effective cleaning. And after cleaning, the drying system reduces drying time to only two hours with 99% effectiveness. In the Pro model that mop can heat the water to 80º for a more efficient cleaning.

These two vacuum robots are equipped with a 5,200 mAh battery that according to Xiaomi provides an autonomy of up to 140 minutes with a single load.
