What can you report without going to the barracks and what do you need to do it?

Let’s explain to you how to file electronic complaints in the Civil Guard, explaining the cases in which you will be able to do it and what you need. This way, you will be able to save yourself having to go to a barracks or office in cases where you can make your report online.

We are going to explain to you what they are the seven types of complaints you can make online avoiding trips and saving time. Then, we are going to tell you what the requirements are and how to proceed.

What complaints can you make online?

Not all crimes can be reported remotely. For example, You cannot report crimes online where there is violence or more than 10,000 euros have been stolen or lost. Now let’s go with the list of complaints that you can make.

• Loss or misplacement of documentation: If you lose documentation involuntarily and without another person having been involved in it or there being bad faith, then you can make the report online.
• Documentation location: When you find documents whose theft, loss or misplacement has been reported, you can indicate that they have already been recovered. Of course, you will need to provide the data from the complaint filed previously.
• Fraudulent charges on your card (or other electronic payment methods): If you receive charges on your bank card or other electronic payment system without your authorization, you can report it online.
• Theft from inside a vehicle: If someone has stolen objects or elements that were inside a vehicle, you can report it online as long as there has been no violence or intimidation.
• Vehicle theft: If a motor vehicle or moped has been stolen or taken without your authorization, you can report it regardless of how the theft was carried out.
• Thefts: When someone takes an object or effect from another person without the owner’s permission, it can be reported online if there has been no violence, intimidation, or force in the things.
• Damage: When the destruction, disabling or deterioration of another’s property has been caused, causing economic damage to its owner, it can also be reported online.

How to make the complaint online

To make the electronic report, you need to enter the website of the Electronic Headquarters of the Civil Guard. It is recommended to have a bandwidth equal to or greater than 10 Mbps, and low latency. Within the web, you have to click on the option Telematic complaint that will appear in it. You can also do this on your mobile.

Once you do, you will go to a page with a list of things you can report. In it, Click on the type of complaint that you want to make, and you will be taken to another page where you will be told the specific requirements for that type of report. There, click on the button Access the Procedure.

Now you will have to identify yourself on the Civil Guard website, for which you will need to use the Cl@ve system. You can use the Permanent Key or mobile or digital certificatelike the FNMT certificate.
