We are going to tell you a method with which you will be able install any iOS app on Mac, using an open source program called PlayCover. What this application does is allow you to install applications from their IPA file, which is like Android APKs or Windows EXEs.
This is a method with which you can do what Apple doesn’t want, but It also has some negative aspects that is worth knowing. We’ll start with them, and then we’ll tell you how to proceed.
What’s wrong with PlayCover
The main negative aspect of PlayCover is that we will use the IPA applications for the iPhone or iPad. These are versions of applications that have not been optimized for macOSwhich means they may not be able to be used correctly.
In some cases, such as the Instagram app, we will find that we cannot click on the login fields, because they are touch-sensitive. The apps also do not adapt well to the size of the windows, and in general the operation can be far from optimal. Yes indeed, iPad version is launched of the applications something to take into account regarding their size.
PlayCover is an application that is in constant development, and they ensure that its objective is that all applications work natively, and even be able to use controllers with the games you launch. The tool is open source and totally secure, and compatible for Macs with Apple M chips.
Furthermore, the other drawback is that you will have to get the IPA files yourselfalthough there are pages like decrypt.day which are repositories where you can get them. There will always be a risk that applications come with malware or bugs, so extreme caution is advisable.
How to use PlayCover

The first thing you have to do is enter the PlayCover website, whose address is playcover.io. In it, you can go to the downloads section and download the latest available version. Install the file you download like any application.

Once you open the application after installing it, you have to go to the section Applications. In it, click on the + plus button or on Import IPAand choose the file that you have obtained from an application or game on your computer. Then PlayCover will proceed to install the app on your Mac natively.

When the application or game is installed, it will appear in the Applications with its icon. You can install more by clicking on the + button that will appear at the top.

And that’s it. By double clicking on an installed application you will launch it on the Mac. Sometimes it is advisable to maximize it so that it takes up the entire screen and you can see it in its entirety, because in the window with which they open sometimes part of the interface is covered.
